Madesh delivered a controlled drive in the premier MRF Formula 2000 class, finishing ahead of Pune’s Saishiva Sankaran, the points leader, and Mumbai’s Krishay Gutte. Sankaran crossed the line in 12:50.666, 3.330 seconds behind Madesh, while Gutte completed the podium in 12:53.825. The three provisional times show a close contest at the front, with 6.489 seconds separating first and third.
Madesh had missed the opening round of the championship, so the victory was an important result in his effort to build momentum during the season. Reports also noted that he had shown similar pace in the third race of the previous round. His win placed pressure on the leading contenders, although one race result alone does not determine the championship standings.
At home in Chennai, Gyan Satish kept control of the MRF Formula 1600 field and finished ahead of championship leader Bhuvan Bonu from Visakhapatnam. Gyan’s winning time was 13:58.546, with Bonu second in 13:59.069. Bengaluru’s Tanmay Kothari took third in 14:05.371.
The margin between Gyan and Bonu was just 0.523 seconds, making the Formula 1600 result a close finish despite Gyan’s ability to stay at the front. Bonu’s second place also allowed the points leader to continue adding to his tally. For Gyan, the victory offered a strong start to the third round in front of the Chennai crowd.
The meeting featured results beyond the two headline Formula classes. In Formula LGB 1300, Viswas Vijayaraj continued his run with a seventh consecutive victory across three rounds. Provisional results listed him first in the eight-lap open race in 15:05.241, ahead of DTS Racing team-mate Vinithkumar in 15:05.529 and T.S. Diljith in 15:13.891.
Nethan McPherson of Delta Racing won the Junior category after missing the previous two rounds, finishing ahead of Momentum Motorsports drivers Kaveen Rajapaksa and Adam Junaid. In Super Stock, T.S. Diljith led a DTS Racing podium sweep, with Lal Kattikulam Bharathan second and Deepa S. John third. Aakash Vivek topped the MRF Saloons Toyota Etios category, ahead of S. Gokula Rathinam and R. Hemachandran.
The range of winners highlights the depth of the national meeting, which brings emerging single-seater drivers together with competitors in touring-car and other domestic categories. For young racers, strong results against points leaders can provide confidence and help establish their credentials, but consistency across a multi-round calendar remains crucial.
The October 10 results were listed as provisional, and race times should therefore be understood in that context. The third-round programme continued over the weekend, with further races capable of changing the picture across the championship classes. Madesh’s Formula 2000 win and Gyan’s Formula 1600 victory were the opening-day highlights, while Vijayaraj’s extended winning streak provided another storyline for the meeting.
For Indian motorsport fans, the event also underlines the importance of the Madras International Circuit as a venue for domestic racing. The performances of Madesh and Gyan offer a snapshot of young Indian talent competing in high-powered formula categories, while the other class winners demonstrate the breadth of the national racing ladder.
