Virat Kohli has made his LinkedIn debut with a message that looks beyond cricket, outlining his ambition to help build Indian sports businesses and brands for a global audience.
In a post published on October 13, the India batter said he wants to see a country where every sport is followed, celebrated and played. He added that a new generation of athletes and entrepreneurs could help India produce world-class talent and develop brands capable of competing internationally.
Kohli described a plan to build an end-to-end sports platform from India, bringing together manufacturing, consumer brands and sports distribution. His message positioned the opportunity as more than participation in global sport: he argued that India could help shape its future.
The post also explained his business roles. Kohli said he had joined Agilitas as an investor and was a co-founder and co-creator of one8world. He linked the ventures to a longer-term belief in pushing boundaries, raising standards and building something that can outlast an individual playing career.
The LinkedIn debut quickly drew strong engagement. The Times of India reported that the post had received more than 55,000 reactions and nearly 2,000 comments at the time of its October 14 report. Engagement figures can change over time.
Kohli’s post reflects an effort to use his profile not only as an international cricketer but also as an investor and brand builder. His stated ambition places wider participation in sport alongside the development of Indian-owned businesses and products for global markets.
For Indian sport, the challenge will be turning that ambition into sustainable opportunities for athletes, audiences and businesses across disciplines—not only cricket.
