The International Cricket Council has announced the fixtures for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2027, with 16 teams set to play 41 matches in Bangladesh and Nepal from January 21 to February 6. Defending champions India will begin their title defence against the West Indies on January 22 at TU International Cricket Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The third edition of the tournament will be staged across four venues in Chattogram, Sylhet and Kathmandu. The final is scheduled for February 6, while February 7 has been set aside as a reserve day. The ICC’s published schedule places the event across two host countries, creating a cross-border format for one of the leading international competitions in women’s youth cricket.
India have been drawn in Group A alongside Ireland, West Indies and hosts Nepal. Their first match is against West Indies on January 22 in Kathmandu. Nepal will also open its campaign on January 22, taking on Ireland earlier in the day at TU International Cricket Stadium.
India enter the event as two-time defending champions, and the group-stage schedule gives them three matches before the tournament moves into the next phase. The opening round continues through January 26, after which the qualifying teams advance to the Super Six stage. The ICC schedule lists the tournament structure as four groups of four teams, followed by two Super Six groups.
The other groups are Group B, comprising South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan and Samoa; Group C, featuring Australia, Bangladesh, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates; and Group D, with England, Sri Lanka, the United States and Scotland. The draw brings together established youth cricket programmes and teams seeking to make progress on the international stage.
The tournament opens on January 21 with four matches. Bangladesh play the United Arab Emirates in Sylhet, while Australia meet Nigeria at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. In Kathmandu, Sri Lanka face Scotland at Upper Mulpani International Cricket Ground, followed by England against the United States.
On January 22, New Zealand play Samoa and South Africa meet Pakistan in Chattogram. Nepal face Ireland and India play West Indies in Kathmandu. The schedule then continues through January 26, when India are listed to play Ireland, while West Indies meet Nepal. These fixtures complete the initial group-stage programme before teams are redistributed into the Super Six phase.
The ICC says morning matches are scheduled to start at 09:30 local time and afternoon matches at 13:30 local time. Match timings should be checked against the official fixture listing closer to the event in case of operational updates.
Bangladesh will host matches at Bir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. Nepal’s venues are TU International Cricket Stadium and Upper Mulpani International Cricket Ground, both in Kathmandu.
The four grounds are spread across three cities, with Chattogram and Sylhet hosting the Bangladesh fixtures and Kathmandu hosting matches in Nepal. The arrangement gives the tournament a regional footprint while allowing teams to play the group stage across the two host nations.
After the group stage concludes on January 26, the qualifying teams advance to the Super Six stage. The teams will be divided into two groups, and the top two sides from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. This structure means teams must carry their group-stage momentum into the second phase to stay in contention for the title.
The semi-finals are scheduled for February 4 at Bir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram. February 5 is the designated reserve day for the semi-finals. The final will take place on February 6 at 13:30 local time, with February 7 reserved as a contingency date.
The U19 Women’s T20 World Cup is an important international platform for emerging cricketers, giving players experience against teams from different cricketing systems. For India, the immediate focus will be a Group A opener against West Indies before matches against Nepal and Ireland. The schedule also gives host nation Nepal a chance to play in front of home supporters in Kathmandu.
With fixtures now announced, teams and supporters can begin planning around match dates and venues. SportsLine will follow India’s title defence and the wider tournament as the event approaches, using official ICC updates for any changes to the schedule.
