The 18-year-old captain struck 19 fours and eight sixes, scoring 124 of his runs through boundaries. His innings helped Delhi reach 289 for six in 50 overs at the ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram, setting Chandigarh a target of 290.
Aaryavir opened the batting and shared a 98-run partnership with Arnav Bugga, who made 47 from 39 deliveries. Delhi lost wickets at the other end during the innings, but Aaryavir continued to score at a brisk pace before being dismissed in the 46th over, 27 runs short of a double century.
The performance came in the 2026-27 Vinoo Mankad Trophy, the domestic one-day competition for Under-19 teams. Aaryavir had been appointed captain of Delhi’s Under-19 side ahead of the tournament.
The son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, Aaryavir recently represented India Under-19 in a three-match Youth ODI series against Australia. He scored 28, 47 and 34 in the series as India completed a 3-0 sweep.
He had previously drawn attention in age-group cricket with a 297-run innings for Delhi against Meghalaya in the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy. The latest hundred-plus score adds another significant performance to his progression through the junior ranks.
